License plates a sign of progress
Multitudes
of heterosexual South Carolinians are celebrating the issuance of the SC
Equality specialty license plates (“New license plates support gay
residents,” Feb. 4).
The availability of these plates is another victorious signal that ever more oppressive obstacles for our lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender sisters and brothers are toppling over like dominoes.
Indeed, seeing those grace-filled plates being proudly displayed up and down our state’s highways and streets should make all fair-minded Palmetto citizens truthfully say: “It’s a great day in South Carolina.”
